The lack of respect for other people is the main reason behind abuse.
The abuser generally has a low HVE or human values equivalent. Often as a result of his education and upbringing, as well as of character traits.
We ourselves were victims of verbal abuse in 2004. For weeks on end, we were regularly insulted and humiliated. We did in fact not do anything wrong. The main reason behind the attack was jealousy.
The insults and psychological mistreatment became more intense and more frequent by the day.
“You’re too good for this world” was often what people said to us.
Defending ourselves was difficult. Indeed, we do not like to quarrel at all. After a while, we could hardly sleep any more and finally we became exhausted and we collapsed.
The attacker was astonished and said to one of our colleagues: “I did not mean to hit them so hard”. But he had, the collapse was profound, we lost most of our memory and it took several years before we recovered sufficiently to take up some professional activity again and lead an acceptable life.
During the recovery process, we extensively thought about why this kind of situations and conflicts happen. We discussed about it with people from around the world. We talked about possible reasons behind these conflicts.
We concluded it was mainly the lack of respect for human values. Or, in other words, the lack of peace.
We decided to launch a campaign to promote peace and human values. It was the start of Danellandia.
Since we went through this very bad experience, we can better understand what victims of abuse must be going through.
Abuse shows a lack of respect for the other person. It is often a breach of privacy… Also, it shows the abuser has not reached the necessary level of intelligence to know what life is all about and that by abusing others he hurts himself too.
We hope that promoting human values will gradually reduce abuse, while showing abusers the real purpose of life: building peace or developing one’s humanity.
Danellandia was created on 28 March, 2004. It is based on discussions about this world and its many problems with people from different backgrounds, countries, religions and ages.
Danellandia defined 25 human values as the basis for its campaign to make this world a better and more just place in many fields of human activities: politics, economics, the media, personal relationships, education, Nature care…
You can help to promote these values by sharing the material on this site.
Become a Danellandian or friend of Peace by promoting human values to boost peace.
This world needs people and leaders that put humanity first and not money or power. People and leaders that unite instead of creating tensions, divisions and conflicts.
Strong human values are a passport to a sustainable future.
The world of Peace is possible!
