Humanity has indeed made tremendous advancements, but too much confidence has been put on the self-regulating capacity of the free market. The market is free only for part of the players. We need a new type of leaders with a global vision. Leaders that unite instead of divide. Leaders that lead and do not mislead.

Life can be tough on us and the people around us. Who is to blame? We ourselves or others? Or society, politics and economics? We are influenced by so many factors and actors and social media make it easier to influence us – most often with commercial and political objectives. Knowing what really matters in life can help you to reduce the negative influences affecting your life and give you more breathing space.
Letter to all politicians
Our society is losing more and more of its humanity or truly human content. Everything is done for the “insensitive” money, that is gradually taking control of everything. Everything is judged in terms of its monetary value. This is dehumanizing our society and its people. This trend must be reverted.
Letter to WEF at Davos
Every year, Davos in Switzerland is the place to be for world leaders from many countries. The meetings held there mainly relate to the “state of the world”. But nothing really changes because the main starting point is how to keep capitalism working for part of the world’s population. If we want to really change this world and make every person be treated as a human being in whatever country, capitalism needs to be reformed or replaced.
Mobile phone from the Moon
Investing billions in infrastructure and equipment that can benefit a few – privileged – earthlings, while doing little about the misery and poverty so many millions of people around the globe have to suffer, is not how Humanity can save Earth and its inhabitants. Even the Moon has sent some thoughts about this and about mistreating Nature.
Moonlight in a bottle
One of the few things that are still free of charge nowadays is the moonlight. The moon reflects the sunlight to brighten up most of our nights. The moon’s gravity generates the tides in our oceans. These are visible signs of the moon’s impact. Yet, the full role of the moon in all life on Earth is still largely unknown.
Neo-liberalism, poverty and justice
Chile is having presidential elections on December 19. This country hit the headlines a few years ago as social unrest turned into violence for several weeks. Huge crowds protested against the government and the lack of policies to tackle poverty and other social injustices. The protests finally led to political reforms and a New Constitution. Will the new president end the decades of neo-liberalism that led to huge contrasts between rich and poor?
No right to possess nuclear weapons
Nuclear weapons are the most destructive weapons on Earth. Everyone has the images of Hiroshima after the bomb stored in his mind forever. Just think of the many victims that were vaporized into nothing or to those that died slowly as a result of radiation. Just think of the impact on Nature and finally on the whole world. Nature is one whole and damaging her at one location means damaging her everywhere. If Nature is damaged, all humans are damaged too. They are part of her.
Normal outrageously abnormal
It’s incredible that we all had to be caught up in a very abnormal situation first to really realize that. But very little has changed to make sure that normal doesn’t return. It should not return as it was so outrageously abnormal.
Open letter to pharma companies
A lot of medicines have serious side-effects. Side-effects that can change your life forever. The pharma industry is a multi-billion business. Cannot more care be taken to reduce the side-effects of medicines? Are financial results really that important? Should patients not always be the absolute priority? Here is a story about a friend’s mother who took a medicine and after just a few days she had some 13 side effects. She had to be taken to hospital for several weeks. She never fully recovered. At the hospital we met several other people treated for the side effects of medication.
