Western observers are sent to many countries world-wide to check whether elections are held fairly and openly. Why not send observers to less developed countries to check whether the western companies active there give the local communities a fair share of the cake? Or a fair deal?
Faith is often confounded with religion. Faith is the goodness in people and the will to bring it out. Some people seem to worship religion more than they do faith. It leads to conflicts and worse.
Faith is often a factor influencing or determining election results. In quite some countries, Jesus and his teachings are often a factor playing their part in politics and other fields. But, if Jesus were alive today, what would he as a peace activist think of the present world and the way politicians, business leaders and people in general treat their fellow citizens and Nature? What do people believing in him or anyone caring for a better world for all think?
Why do some people play first fiddle? Why do some people play second fiddle? Do some have superior qualities? Do some have inferior qualities? Many first fiddles just have more power. More power because of more money. More power because of the right connections. More power because they are more assertive.
Our idea of paradise is quite different. It is not fiscal at all. We hope our messages will make you get the feel of what we consider to be more like paradise. Maybe the “inhabitants” of fiscal paradises will want to leave them as they come to value other things more than loads of money.
Most economists and politicians still believe the free market economy is the best system around. Yet, the free market is anything but free. Freedom means that we can live our own individuality while respecting other human beings and Nature. The present free market does not show enough respect. Many people are the victims of the whimsical selfishness and greed of those having economic power over them.
Some people ask God to bless them. Or their group or their country. But the request often implies that other people or countries will suffer. Or that Nature will be maltreated.
A golden buggy makes your baby exclusive. At least that’s what the buggy manufacturer advertised. In Danellandia, exclusive products do not make people exclusive. A fine personality does!
There is so much hatred in this world. For small and big reasons. For reasons related to race, culture, politics, economics, religion… Hatred is often based on misunderstanding or on prejudices. Hatred is often directed towards people that are not really known. Just being part of a particular group can make you the victim of hatred.
Making a profit is fine, but making a fortune by having your products made by underpaid workers in countries with no or hardly any labour or environmental laws is nothing to look up to. Misleading investors and consumers is not either.
Excessive materialism is bringing our world and Earth to the brink of collapse. We need a new kind of leaders and institutions urgently. Human beings do need material things to organize their lives. But do they really need all that much? Do they really need to buy new things only to buy yet other new things shortly after?
Some coins carry the words “in God we trust”. Yet, the world money is helping to create, seems to be a far cry from the world God is supposed to stand for.
