New is the most abused word in marketing.
We’re led to believe
we have to buy new things to be modern.
Aren’t we modern enough already?
If we don’t buy them, are we old-fashioned?

Fantastic is the second most abused word.
We’re being told that we will look great
when we buy a certain product.
Aren’t we fantastic enough already?
If we don’t buy it, are we boring?

Advertising overloads us with images
and videos with hidden messages.
A whole world of stars and celebrities
is presented to us every day.
They look modern and fantastic…

At least that’s what we are told.
They must sharpen our desire
to also live in a world like that.
The problem is that we don’t have any sponsors
that  buy us expensive clothes, cars, make-up,
jewelry, plastic surgery, houses and the like.

Many stars and celebrities are
not as great as they look.
Advertising usually shows us just the glamour.

We’re modern and fantastic
when we say that of ourselves.
The right attitude, that’s what really counts.
We don’t have to let ourselves be influenced
by the trivial superficiality
of a world that often
is rich and beautiful on the outside
and poor and ugly on the inside.

Advertising has an incredible power
to make us believe we need
to spend thousands of euros or dollars
to look good and fantastic.

Please do not believe that.
You can look like a diamond,
if you set human values as your goal
and if you try to be a caring and social person.
Even though you may not have the looks
of Mr. Glamour or Mrs. Glitter.

You can be a human diamond
without it costing you a fortune.
You can be a diamond that glows
with its unique personality
and not by buying expensive
make-up or flashy jewelry.

We can all be fantastic.
All we have to do is believe in ourselves.
All we have to do is get the diamond
that we all are, to glow and shine.
