The overwhelming majority of people - all over the world - are increasingly becoming "collateral damage" of the way this world is run. When those who run it think methods, theories, principles, strategies and the like are normal when they are not, we can only be damaged or injured.
Avoiding taxes
Legal ways to evade/avoid taxes? Legal may be legal for some people or for some groups of people or in some countries, but totally inconsistent with what should be the "Global Peace Charter".
Basta! Capitalism is too enslaving
Consumers are complaining about rising prices. Some foodstuffs cost ever more. Fuel prices are soaring. Health care becomes more expensive… Many producers are also complaining. Often they get minimum prices for their products or raw materials. Especially in less developed countries. Why are prices going up? Why are producers paid little for their produce? Who is behind this unfair economic system?
Basta! War mentality should stop
When are most leaders finally going to realize that they belong to the wrong family? The "war family" has been damaging our planet for ages. Through violence of all sorts it has dominated the "peace family". It has caused the destruction of millions of lives and of billions worth of Nature and infrastructure. Time to change mentality and to transform Earth into the home for all instead of into the home for a few - foreseeably having to fear that home might be destroyed as well.
Bathing in gold – offshore retreat
Golden cars and shirts, bathing in gold... And an offshore retreat to hide your money. Seen through the eyes of Peace, it really does look absurd, especially when the huge contrasts between haves and have-nots in this world are often built on a lack of respect for human values.
Beauty is more than just a package
What is beauty? Who decides what is beautiful? Marketing makes us believe we need to look beautiful the way marketing gurus want us to. They focus on the package or the outer beauty and hardly care about the inner beauty. Many people feel frustrated because they feel they do not reach the so-called ideal beauty standards imposed by marketing and society. Focusing a bit more on inner beauty and realizing that marketing has a lot to do with superficialities, can help to reduce that frustration.
Believe in yourself
I'm drowning! Not in water. I'm drowning in an overdose of information. Every day I'm flooded with messages that want me to buy new products. Products that are said to be better and fantastic.
Billions lost
Dharshie Wissah from Kakamega in Kenya took this picture and won the 2019 CIWEM environmental photographer of the year prize (category: water, equality and sustainability). It is a shocking image for most people around the world. The picture shows a young boy drinking dirty water due to the lack of water points in the area caused by deforestation. Lack of clean water greatly increases the risk of diarrhoeal diseases such as cholera, typhoid fever and dysentery, and other water-borne tropical diseases.
Celebrities and marketing
Celebrities help to market products that are often without much value. Marketing makes people believe that by buying those products, they will look like those celebrities.
Christmas 2021: different and inspiring
Christmas 2021 will be different. No big parties in most countries. Christmas is a time to reflect. Maybe we can reflect a bit more this year? What is Christmas? For most of us, it is the time to meet family. For many of us, it is a time to buy presents. To have a special dinner or supper. For some of us, it is a time to reflect.
