Aim and purpose
The symbol of Mahaivi or the symbol of Life.
It is full of love, peace and humanity in harmony with Nature.
Just imagine all the people in the world having a life like that.
Mahaivi stands for “to live and be alive” or “love be to Life” or “love be to Love”. The word came to our mind unexpectedly somewhere in the eartly 2000s, when at night we had the inspiration for a poem about Life itself. We had never heard the word before.
We associated the word with the content of the poem “two hearts –
We decided to use Mahaivi as a greeting that means “love be to Life” or “love be to Love”.
When we noted down the poem, we also made a sketch of a symbol. The symbol of Mahaivi or the symbol of Life. It is full of love, peace and humanity in harmony with Nature. Just imagine all the people in the world having a life like that.
Peace, Love and Humanity
We thought about launching this symbol on Christmas as Christmas is traditionally a day of peace. Mahaivi as the new symbol of Peace, Love and Humanity and consequently of Life.
Yet, some people did not like the idea of Christmas as it is associated too much with Christianity. We want the symbol to be the symbol of all people wanting peace regardless of their country, race, culture, religion or non-
The symbol of Mahaivi expresses what Life should be
We therefore chose January 1st to be the Day of Mahaivi. We launched the new symbol and its full explanation on 1 January 2009. It gives hints as to how to live life more fully. About how to build peace with oneself, other people and Nature.
Taking life more seriously
Mahaivi may hopefully make people think about how they can contribute to peace. How they can make life more rewarding and fulfilling. Developing their humanity and sharing friendship and love. Respecting Nature.
We all need to take Life more seriously!
