Introduction

Present economic systems are too damaging to Nature. Nature is suffering too much and is losing its capacity to restore itself. The health of Nature directly and indirectly affects the health of Humanity and of all other living creatures.

Present economic systems are primarily aimed at generating economic growth and new economic wealth in the form of money.

The excessive focus on money and finance has relegated (the health of) Nature to the background.

Efforts carried out to reduce pollution, like the one resulting from carbon dioxide emissions, are not enough to prevent Humanity from reaching the point of no return soon.

The economic systems should be changed drastically and Nature (and with it the health of Humanity and even its survival) should be the priority number one.

The new system we propose is called summonism. It aims at the summum bonum or supreme good, which you attain by maximally respecting human values.

Basis

The respect for Nature is one of the human values promoted by Danellandia. Peace is considered to be the respect for human values and the respect of Nature is an essential part of them.

Humanity in general is acting as a predator on Nature. It should be a partner of Nature. All people will benefit from it. Nature is a living entity and Humanity is part of it.

All economic activities damaging Nature should be phased out as soon as possible and the damage caused should be repaired.

Projects

Danellandia has proposed several projects in the past to make the economy cleaner and Nature-friendly. New ones will follow in the future.

Education “think Nature”

People should be made aware of their relationship with their partner called Nature. It should start with educational programmes aimed at teaching children – already at a young age – the importance of “thinking Nature”. Everyone should respect Nature.

Media

All media could help to promote Nature awareness through images, articles and poems.

USE – United for the Survival of Earth

All governments should put aside considerable resources to develop green energy at a large scale (more on USE).

Oceans for All

All oceans and poles should be declared the property of Humanity (leased out to it by the effective owner or Nature). Their exploration should be carried out in a Nature-friendly way and benefit all Humanity. Oceans and poles are too valuable to be polluted for much longer (more on Oceans for All).

Nature Alliance

Artificial chemicals, as in pesticides, herbicides and the like are entering the food chain and are negatively affecting the health of people, animals and plants. The use of them should be phased out and they should be replaced by natural and Nature-friendly substances (more on Nature Alliance).

Global Peace Charter

A charter for all countries to rethink their economy, their politics,… and the way they deal with Nature and with people (more on Global Peace Charter).

Space Peace Charter

Space seems to be the new frontier. Several countries already compete to become the dominant force in Space.

The exploration of Space should not lead to new conflicts and wars, but be regulated in the interest of and to the benefit of all countries and every citizen as a whole (more on Space Peace Charter).

Etico – green currency

A new global currency – called the Etico – should be created to finance green activities across the globe to clean up pollution and to replace polluting processes and products with clean ones. The new global currency should not be affected by the almost exclusively money-driven banking system. The Etico could be extended to finance global social programmes, like those aimed at reducing poverty. Some economic activities should indeed no longer be subject to the classical money circuit.
