In today’s hard world it is easy
to be considered too soft.
As if being soft were a defect.
As if being soft were negative.
Why is softness seen as weakness?
Peace is soft, but is it weakness?
Being hard seems to be promoted
in many ways from a tender age on.
The media seem to be more interested
in news items that are tough and hard.
Video-games compete for toughness.
But is being hard often not being violent?
Violence is part of almost everybody’s life.
Society seems to be built on hardness.
Hardness that is often nothing but violence.
Peace is often too soft and dull for many
and they only find excitement in toughness.
Violence may actually be stimulated
by making children behave tough
and by promoting the hard way of life.
It is time to break this circle
of self-destructing violence.
It is time to promote peace.
It is time to promote the soft way of life
to create a society strong through peace.
