Hello, I’m Little Esther from Africa.
I was born on October 2, 2007.
I’d like to tell what I dream of.

I want to grow up in a world
where leaders lead us like a shepherd
leads his flock of sheep.
Taking care of everyone of them
and not just of the nice or pretty ones.
There is enough food for everyone
as long as some do not eat more
than they really need to
or keep it to themselves or destroy it.

I want to grow up in a world
with strong families
where love and care are
always the main dish on the menu.
With families that do not mirror
themselves with the many
empty shows and soaps on TV.

I want to grow up in a world
where people really care about each other
and not just about their bank accounts.
In a world that helps the poorer countries
to develop themselves.
In a world where producers are
paid a fair price for their products and
for their raw materials.

I want to grow up in a world
where there is solidarity with
those who were less fortunate
and were not born in a country of plentiful
or in a family that is rich.

I want to grow up in a world
where everyone is on board
of the ship called Humanity.

I want to grow up in a world
where people do not have to lose their lives
trying to enter the rich relatives’ countries
to find a better life.

I want to grow up in a world
where justice is a scented flower
and injustice a bad weed.

I want to grow up in a world
where I can have an education
that can help me, my country and the world
to become a better place for all.

I want to grow up in a world without war.
Where people are intelligent enough
to see that peace is the only option.

I want to grow up in a world
where people respect Nature.
It has given us everything.
We just need to share it without greed.

I want to grow up in a world
where life is sacred and respected.
In a world where people do not die
of hunger and of diseases that
can be cured.

I want to grow up in a world
where people can be happy.
In a world where people are
the number one priority and not money.
In a world where people can be free
while respecting others and Nature.
In a world where people are not pressured
to do things not in tune with their principles.
In a world where there is forgiveness
as everyone does make mistakes.

I want to grow up in a world
where people can be trusted.
In a world where trust is
the partner of progress.

I want to grow up in a world
where all people are equal,
regardless of the colour of their skin,
their culture or religion.
In a world where people with a handicap
feel at home too.

I want to grow up in a world
where wealth is distributed better.
Not in a world where
some drown in dirty mud
and others in shiny gold.

I want to grow up in a world
where God is respected
and not the reason to make war.

I want to grow up in a world
of peace, love and happiness.
I have a name for it.
I will tell you later.

Please, care for me as a friend
and do anything that you can
to make this world the place
that I dream of.
I want to share it with you.
