Clean this world
The obsession with money and finances is making a mess of this world. Human values are a major tool to clean it up.
Human values
Humanity or peace is the respect for human values. Without common universal human values that are respected in all sectors of life and in all countries, the present world is bound to get worse. If we want a sustainable future, we have to change our way of life and our mentality.
Nature
Nature should be treated as Humanity’s partner. That way, many problems – some of them threatening the survival of planet Earth – could be solved.
Politics
The understanding between political parties could greatly be fostered if they found a common basis. A basis on which to build a stable society with as few exclusions as possible and with the greatest respect for people and for Nature.
Economics
Economic growth seems to be the only yardstick to measure the success of a society. But the obsession with growth negatively impacts the health of people and of Nature.
Religion
Human values could be the common ground for religions to jointly promote peace among them and world-wide. They should also be fervent defenders of Nature.
Education
The excessive materialism has made many people blind to the real values in life, like friendship, solidarity and love. It has led to too much pressure on Nature as well and to growing imbalances in our society.
Media
The media should play an educational role and include more programmes and other products that focus on human values. They would thus help people to have stable values to hang on to.
Summonism
A new socio-economic and political system needs to be created, named summonism. It aims at the summum bonum or supreme good, which you attain by maximally respecting human values.
Etico
Money makes the world go round. Really? Money laundering and related issues have become a major problem world-wide. Inequality between the rich and poor is often the result of ill-gotten money. A new currency replacing all others would be a means to bring more transparency and justice to the world of finance and to society as a whole.
You can help
Try to take human values as your daily guideline too and let these values provide you with a (more) stable basis to build your life on in this excessively materialistic, hectic and superficial world. Promote these values.
Appeal for action
Appeal to citizens, governments, trade unions, associations, companies… In general, everybody around the world wants the same: having a decent life in a peaceful environment. Enjoying life with family and friends… Why still fight each other instead of joining hands to make this world that peaceful environment we can all enjoy life in?
Letter to United Nations
If you support the Global Peace Charter, please copy this letter and send it to the UN. Human values could be the basis of fruitful discussions and new initiatives. Today, the UN is often too divided and far from united. That should change.
ABOUT
